My patient recently had open heart surgery and during his stay, the hospital staff lost his dentures.
Subsequently, he was unable to eat the foods he was used to. After nearly a full month, he began to lose hope that the hospital would cover his replacements. I called UMC with the help of my patient and followed up with Michelle who updated us that the check was mailed to the patient’s dentist.
She assured us the dentist’s office should have the check by end of the week, so he could schedule his next appointment at his earliest convenience. I relayed this back to my patient who planned on calling his dentist to schedule that visit.
I’m so happy I could help resolve this issue for my patient. He should not have to take on this kind of stress after a serious surgery.
